A Message From Pastor Brickhouse

Dear Cary First Christian Church Family,

With the ongoing news and heightened concern about the coronavirus, I want to touch base and assure the congregation that your well being, including your health and safety is very important to the Church Council and I.

We are implementing several steps to be proactive and protect your well being while not neglecting our ability to worship in community.

This week, hand-sanitizer dispenser will be installed at the entrance of the church, both upstairs and downstairs.  We are asking that all who enter into the church sanitize their hands.  Also, tissues  will be located on every pew to be used in case of coughing and/or sneezing.

We want to pay particular attention to those who might be most at risk, especially older adults and those who might need additional support.  Effective immediately, all G.E.M.S.  events will be postponed until the spread of the virus has been contained.

The best defense against spreading coronavirus are those that we are already recommending:

  • If you are sick (have a fever, cough, runny nose), stay at home.  In particular, please do not bring sick children until they are completely well.  Be sure to stay hydrated.
  • Clean your hands frequently, and avoid touching your face, nose, and eyes.  Whether washing with soap and water for 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer, be sure to clean all of your hands, fingers, and nails.
  • If you sneeze or cough do so  into a tissue or your elbows rather than your hands.  Throw away tissue and clean your hands afterwards.
  • Minimize hand-shaking and close contact during church gatherings

Up to date information and recommendations are available on the Center for Disease Control website.North Carolina State Health Department can be reached via phone 24/7 at 919-733-3419 to coordinate care or testing for coronavirus if needed.

For those choosing to stay home during this season, we honor your choice. However, we would like the congregation to know we still have a commitment to maintain the operations of the church so that we can do effective ministry in the midst of this crisis. Attached you will find instructions on how to access our online stream for our worship service. We encourage those who stay home to join us online.  Also, attached you will find directions on how to give your offering through the online PayPal system. We are encouraging all to still be faithful and consistent in their giving.

At any point we are to cancel worship, we will still gather through our prayer-line. Detail information on how to access will be sent out in the event of a service cancellation.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and support as we work together for the health and safety of our community.

Sincerely,

Pastor Mycal X. Brickhouse
